Hello , Are You Comfy?"And I will destroy those who used to worship me but now no longer do. They no longer ask for the LORD's guidance or seek my blessings." Zephaniah 1:6, NLT.1. God loves active Christians! The Father is always busy. So are Jesus and the Holy Spirit. They are working right now, in real-time. From creation to saving souls, lifting prayers, holding all things together, whom we call God is super busy. God doesn't appreciate complacency in His people. You recall the Laodicean church. Christians there were lukewarm, and they would be spit from Jesus' mouth. The folks in Laodicea were wealthy for their time. They had comfort. They didn't need God. Hence, they were complacent. Just like so many churches and Christians today.2. Who needs God, after all? People give lip service to God, but they worship the god of the earth. Baubles, glitter, gold, people, delicate things, everyday things too, the devil uses these to keep people from God. It's much like the parable of the sower. The seed of the word is taken in, but the call of the world is more significant. It's comfortable sitting in a lovely building and worship, sitting in our nice home, resting, but actively doing something for our Lord? Complacency is dangerous; it's sinful. We must be busy in the Lord's service.3. The result? Zephaniah 1:17-18 "Because you have sinned against the LORD, I will make you grope around like the blind. Your blood will be poured into the dust, and your bodies will lie rotting on the ground." Zep 1:18 Your silver and gold will not save you on that day of the LORD's anger. For the whole land will be devoured by the fire of his jealousy. He will make a terrifying end of all the people on earth.Whatever it is you possess, it will not save you in the day of God's judgment. However much you have is useless when Jesus returns with His mighty angels to cast the rebellious to hell. Chances are, you'll die before Jesus returns (I don't know that, mind you, I'm just making a guess). Complacency, things, people, false religion, and false worship are things that get souls thrown into hell. Of course, you can clean up your act by following the New Testament. It's wise to call upon the Lord for guidance.Tip: Be right and be active in the Lord's kingdom!Prayer: Father, all of us owe our lives to you. We have every day's opportunity to be what You want us to be between birth and death. Please help us, Father. We are weak and tired. Help us grasp the truth, Your truth, of the New Testament so many souls will find their heavenly home. It is You, O God, whom we worship. You are magnificent in your grace, love, mercy, and forgiveness. Thank You for salvation. Thank You for a life worth living. In Christ's name, Amen.
