Hello , Feeling free today?
"And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.." Romans 8:2, NLT.
Freedom for the people!
That's the rallying cry for people all over the world for generations. People like their political freedom. It's a big thing in our country. But there's another freedom that's more important than anything else, and that's the freedom we have in Christ Jesus. Because we are free in Christ, we are free from spiritual death. And that means no torment, free from fire and worms, free from everlasting darkness, and free from life-destroying despair. There's no expectation of wailing and gnashing of teeth because Jesus set us free.
You're free if you know and follow the truth.
John 8:32, "The truth will set you free." Jesus said those words for everyone of all ages to hear. We must get the message of freedom in Christ. So, we need truth for that, and the only truth that sets us free is the gospel of Christ Jesus. The gospel is good news from our Father regarding eternal life through Jesus' sacrifice for sin. But, what if one doesn't follow the truth of Jesus? Can he expect salvation? Of course not. For sure, one has to follow the truth to be free from spiritual death, and Jesus said God's word is truth, John 17:17. And if that's the case we must follow God's word, the Bible.
Where's there's Spirit, there's freedom.
2 Corinthians 3:17, "For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom." There is a veil over the face of them that do not see nor understand the gospel. It accounts for much misery in the world today. However, when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. He can see the truth our Father addressed to all men. And, following that truth, he is free because he is a "man of the Spirit." He follows God's truth for the conversion of the soul, which means eternal life with our Lord Jesus Christ. Where there's Spirit, there's freedom.
Look in the New Testament for God's plan of salvation.
Father, where would we be without You? The Bible tells us all men are under condemnation for sin., thereby, lost to hell - an eternal fire, eternal suffering, eternal torment. But You, O Lord, have set us free in Jesus. How grateful our hearts are! How sweet life is, knowing You are our Father and Jesus is our Lord and King. Every day, Father, we move closer to You. Our life plays out its steps. We give You our hearts. We praise You as we journey home to You. Thank You, O God. Thank You for eternal life! In Your Son's precious name, we pray. Amen Father. Amen.
