If I had a hammer!
Trini Lopez, 1963. That's when that song was released. It was a popular song, and I still sing it today. It's a good title, too. There's good thinking about the title if we would consider it. For example, what would I do if I had a hammer? Well, just like the song, I'd hammer out the love between my brothers and my sisters all over this land. I'd like to hammer out spiritual love, which is the strongest and unbreakable.
If I had a hammer!
If I had a hammer, I'd hammer out the differences in all the religions. Then, all the denominations, all the religions of the world, would see the truth of the One God, Jehovah, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Everyone would see God for who He truly is, the God whose love is too deep to understand, the mercy and grace that is exceedingly rich, the Father who loves and cares for His creation of man.
If I had a hammer!
I'd hammer out morality - the morality found in the Bible, in the New Testament, Colossians 3, and Ephesians 4, for example. Imagine if there were no adultery - no broken homes, no smashed children, and no broken hearts. What if there were no murders, kidnappings, no abused children or spouses? What if there were no homes without fathers. I suppose, though, my hammer isn't big enough. I suppose that's why there's heaven, earth, hell, and the Bible.
What would you do for God if you had a hammer?
Father, if people would only listen to Your word and understand Your great desire to restore everyone to that You had in the garden. How beautiful all of it would be? Your word is available to everyone. It is readable and understandable. If only people would act on Your word, see the beauty of Your grace and mercy. Father, please keep the evil one away - the one who started sin and death. In Your Son's name, amen!
