Hello . Breakfast. It's so important.
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need., NLT, Matthew 6:22.
Breakfast is important.
It’s good to eat breakfast each morning. It gives fuel to our bodies for the day’s adventures. But, we can’t get too far without power. When our bodies run out of energy, we run out of energy. But how about our spiritual energy? We need to fuel our minds, hearts, and spirits with fuel from God, meaning we go to the Bible for spiritual food!
God’s word is a feast!
What if we were never hungry or thirsty? Imagine all we could accomplish. This can happen, you know. John 6:35 has this: “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” We’re speaking of spiritual hunger. As long as we have Jesus and the truth, we will never feel inward need. What a fantastic blessing!
We have spiritual needs.
Ever been lonely or afraid? Jesus never leaves us, Hebrews 13:5. Ever long for something that fills the inward man? In Jeremiah 3:15, God says, "And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will guide you with knowledge and understanding." Spiritual shepherds care for their flocks. They give you knowledge and understanding, filling the soul with faith, hope, and love.Jesus is, of course, the ultimate Shepherd.Tip: Jesus says this: "Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal," NASB, John 627.Father, we long for the day when we are with You. We hunger for the fruit of the Tree of Life - we desire that healing. O Father, how long before we can lay down our earthly burdens and see the new reality of heaven? You are our God. We take nourishment from Your word and wait till all saints rise. In Your son's name, Amen.
