Hello . You know you want this!
Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth, NLT, Psalm 73:25.
What is our desire?
Tech, it's tech. Right? We want tech toys for sure, the latest gadget. Nah, it gets old after a while. It's money. I know that's right. But, we never seem to get enough money, and the more money we have, the more we spend. In the end, that's not very fulfilling. Power? Now that's interesting. We want the ability to do anything we want. But that comes with a boatload of problems of its own. What, then, is our desire?
He put eternity into the heart of men.
Ecclesiastes has it that God put eternity in the hearts of men, 3:11. Eternity is "perpetual life." The Bible says we can live on and on after we pass, and we can do so in the presence of the majestic King of Glory, God the Father. You know, when it's all said and done, everyone wants that heavenly, good life, on the other side of this life.
Our desire, then?
Deep down, within our soul, is our greatest desire. It's the desire for perpetual life coupled with a desire to live in heaven with God. We want that life. We may rarely mention it, but in the end, that's what we truly want. We want that permanent, beautiful, sustained life found only in Christ Jesus. He is the only way to heaven's joy. Heaven is our reward; but, only if we are faithful to Jesus in this life.Tip: We can have that heavenly life when we begin a new life in Jesus, faithful to His commands.Father, How can we say "Thank You" enough that it measures up to our salvation? You are our glorious Lord. We live and move by Your allowance. Our plans mean nothing, Father, for You direct our steps. How incredibly fantastic You are! Everything You do, everything You are, shouts Your glory to all creation. You are greatly praised, Almighty King. Within our hearts lies the desire to worship You. In Your Son's Name, Amen.
