Hello,
.
.
T
oday, we're talking about:the sharp sword of God.
"For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires." NLT, Hebrews 4:12

What's a sword for, anyway?
A sword cuts. It's as simple as that. It can be a defensive weapon or an offensive weapon. A two-edged sword cuts on both sides, sharp, painful, and complete. This is how the Hebrew writer likened the word of God.
Does God want to cut us?
Yes! He wants us to compare ourselves to His word, thereby painfully seeing the darkness of our hearts. God's word is "powerful." It can cut to our innermost parts. His word is also "alive", producing the effect God wants, cutting deadly sin from our soul.

The sword is just a book.
Most assuredly, it is a book, but it's a Book that takes us to heaven. Our Father consecrates us and sets us apart for His service by the word. It is a powerful sword for it informs, shows our sin, and teaches us how to wash away our sin. Thanks be to God for the sword of His word!Tip: Let the sword do its work of cutting sin from our lives.Father, once again, we come before You with our prayers. Your word sees our sin—thank You for such an instrument! We desire to be clean before You, by the blood of our Lord and Savior. And when our flesh is weak, we humbly ask Your forgiveness. Praise to You Father for Your goodness, and thank You for salvation in Jesus. Thank You for walking us home to heaven. In Your Son's Name, we pray, Amen!
