oday, we’re talking about things that are valuable.
"Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal." NLT, Matthew 6:20.
Valuable things.
Anyone or anything considered of great worth is valuable. Our lives, family, income, earthly things, etc., are all worthwhile. However, Jesus said our one primary goal is to prepare for eternity. So whatever we do here, our good deeds and salvation, are the treasures we store up in heaven—Slide Material for Valuable Things.
So then, what is truly valuable to us?
If we value heaven, our lives will show it. Remember, Jesus said we should know a tree by its fruits. And if that's the case, all we need do is take an introspective look. Does the fruit in our lives show heaven is most important? It's true; our treasure goes all the way to our hearts.
It's a quantity/quality issue.
The quality of our relationship to Jesus is equal to the quantity of heart given to Him. If we give Him a little space in our hearts, then indeed, we don't value heaven, or the Lord, very much. So likewise, the more we live as if Jesus lives within us, the more we love Him and our home in heaven.Tip: Always increase the value of heaven in the heart.Father, once again, we give our hearts to You today. You are our sole reason for existence. We don't exist without You. Everything in life is about You, so we give ourselves to You. Our home with You there in heaven is our utmost goal. We endeavor to live in praise of You, Most High God. You are our life and our eternity. Thank You for salvation in Christ Jesus. In His name, we pray, amen!
