Hello,

.

.

T

oday, we’re talking about hatred.

"Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all offenses.," NASB, Proverbs 10:12.

Hatred

I hate the word "hatred." It stirs up the emotions, spilling over into physical maladies. Ii makes for headaches, upset stomachs, brain-bending, heart racing, and harmful chemicals coursing through the body. It blasts forth in stupefying angry, shouting outbursts injuring others and ourselves. God has it right, of course. We need to put away hatred. But how? How do we rid ourselves of our seeming need to blast others or let it fester inwardly?*Three Steps to Consider(1) Restrain it, Proverbs 29:12 - "Fools vent their anger, but the wise quietly hold it back." When we control our anger, we keep it within its limits.(2) Evaluate it, James 1:19-20 - " Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires." God's way of dealing with anger is to be slow with it. Breathe.(3) Release it, Colossians 3:8 - "But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language." Feel it, vent it (safely to a third party), and release it.
