“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” NLT, Galatians 5:22-23.
Goodness: The Fruit of the Spirit
My friends, God is good all the time! Here's Lamentations 3:25 - "The LORD is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him." We want good, and since this world is corrupted by sin, we look to God for goodness. James has this for us: "Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow," NLT, James 1:17. Whatever is good, it is His gift to us and His gifts come every day. He makes this good promise to us: "We shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Friends, if God is so good, we must also be good. After all, God produces goodness in us through the word of the Holy Spirit!You can see the Bible material for goodness here.
