oday, we’re talking about self-control!
“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” NLT, Galatians 5:22-23.
Self-Control: The Fruit of the Spirit
But how, how do we grow self-control? Well, what's our goal? Heaven. To get to heaven, we need to reign in our passions; otherwise, giving in to them is sin. And sin, of course, keeps us from heaven. So, to gain mastery of self, we might consider this thought - 'Jesus is more important to me right now than the desire for sin.'
