False Doctrine
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. NASB, 2 Timothy 4:3-4.
False Doctrine!
Yes, false teachers are right now preaching false doctrine. Their doctrine is different, not the same as found in the Bible. This has been a problem since the first century.I've wondered why men and women would purposefully do this, but our verse today explains it. First, people grow tired of the true message that everyone sins and needs a savior. From there, people move on to doctrines that make them feel good with teaching that is elegant and smooth. And, of course, that would require preachers who would give them what they want. And what do the false teachers get out of it? Money, prestige, power, and things. I know that most preachers of differing faiths believe what they preach. They are sincere. But then again, "All you have to do is take Jesus into your heart" sounds better and easier than repenting, confessing, and being baptized.
