Hell! Do You Believe In Hell?
I can imagine hell. Sometimes, it feels as if we're living in it right now. So, I can readily imagine God's place for sinners and the devil with all his folks. But I can't grasp the full horror of it.The Mangy Dog!Let's use the following scenario as an example. You would not permit a mangy, sore-ridden, foul-smelling, scabby dog to sit next to you. That's a disgusting picture. But what if you could somehow save the dog? Then, what do you do?You cover it and take it to the vet. The vet applies the medicine. and the dog completely recovers. Now. instead of retching over the dog, he has a beautiful coat of hair, shiny, and furry, and he smells great. He makes a great friend for you.That's kind of like our situation right now. We sinners are the sick dog. Unless we come to the Great Physician, we will die in our sins. Only Jesus can make us well. He is the Great Physician. Our owner, the Father, has made it so our souls will be healed. Hell, though? It's the place where sin-sick people go after refusing the Physician's care.
