That Great Day Of Judgment
"But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men," 2 Peter 3:7, NASB.
Oh, we know it's coming, but we don't know when.
Judgment Day could be within the next second as I write this (in which you will never see this post) or a thousand years from now.
The heavens (the atmosphere and the celestial heaven) will burn away.
The earth will burn away.
The ungodly will also burn. the destruction of ungodly men.
Peter knew this, obviously, and he got his information from Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Fortunately, there is grace for our ungodliness.
God had Jesus leave heaven and come to earth to seek and save the lost, Luke 19:10.
Jesus was sacrificed to save all men who accept Him as the Son of God, the Redeemer, by following God's terms for salvation.
Jesus arose from the dead and, 40 days later, ascended to heaven.
The saved have nothing to fear at the judgment.
The ungodly should fear judgment right now, perchance to come to salvation through Jesus. The ungodly face an indescribable fate.
