Hello,God, Gods, In Three Persons, Trinity
" God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'" — Exodus 3:14

God, Gods, In Three Persons, Trinity
Exodus 3:14 states that God spoke to Moses. Who is this God? Often, the word "God" in the Old Testament is the Hebrew word "Elohim" אֱלֹהִים. It carries the idea of plural. So, "God" is referred to as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. What difference does this make?
We want to know who's involved in the text. So when God spoke to Moses, it was in agreement with the Three, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Sometimes in the Old Testament, the word "LORD" is used. How is this different? The word references, Jehovah - the Father. In Hebrew it's Yahveh, אֱלֹהִים.
Some folks say there are three Gods. The Bible doesn't teach this, of course. John 15:26 has this: "When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me." We see that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all involved in this verse. Now, catch Luke 23:34: "But Jesus was saying, "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." Jesus is not praying to Himself. Right? So, three Gods? No, that's not true. There's only one God but in three persons. Another way to put it is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit. For example, there are 8 billion people on Earth, but there's only one humanity. All three persons of God are equal in deity: omniscient, omnipresent, omnipowerful.
One can see by reading the Bible that God the Father is the Originator, Jesus is the Agent in creation and salvation (John 1:1-4), and the Holy Spirit is the Applicator.
We use the word "Trinity" to reference all three persons of the Godhead. The word Trinity is not used in Scripture. It's used only to communicate among us human folk.
The result? It's best to do as God says for salvation, heaven, and righteous living. The alternative is not salvation - one would end up like the rich man in Luke 16.
Friends, live like the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are within you. Live in love. Be at peace.
