Ephesians 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace

Blood is always used for life.

Everyone has blood—10.5 pints of it—flowing through our veins, sustaining our very existence. Blood is life, as it is written, “the life of the flesh is in the blood” (Leviticus 17:11a). Without blood, we cannot live.

Now, consider the profound power of Jesus’ blood. Ephesians 1:7 reveals that through His blood, we find redemption—an incredible gift of eternal life for all who accept it with faith. Without that faith, we miss the grace that His blood offers. Without His sacrifice, we face a perilous journey.

So, how do we embrace the eternal life promised through His blood? We reflect on the immense suffering He endured and the ultimate sacrifice He made for us. In our minds, we can vividly picture that life-giving blood. To access His blood, we must engage with God’s salvation plan.

It requires faith, repentance, confession, and baptism. We believe the Bible that through baptism, we are cleansed from our sins. Romans 6:3-5 reminds us that without baptism, we cannot share in Christ’s crucifixion; without this transformative act, we cannot rise to the new life He offers.

The body thrives because of blood, and our eternal spirit thrives because of His blood.
