How To Love Jesus In Heart And Mind
There are a couple of things to think about when writing a "how-to" article. In this case, the two points are these: Loving Jesus and keeping His commandments.Loving JesusPeople often forget what Jesus has done for them. We often take it for granted that He died for us.
Jesus left heaven for all of us.
Jesus demonstrated His love for us through His miracles.
Jesus resurrected three people from the dead and promised to raise us.
Jesus willingly underwent a horrible near-death scourging for us.
Jesus super-painfully had His hands and feet nailed to the cross.
Jesus died on the cross, most horribly, to save us from God's wrath and ourselves.
You must use your mind to imagine all that He did for our souls, and the beat of our hearts to keep His commandments.Keeping His CommandmentsIt is with our mind (imagining and knowing) and heart (emotion) that our love for Jesus rises to heaven.
We keep them because He first loved us (1 John 4:19).
We keep them because we love Him (John 14:15).
He shows His love for us (Romans 5:8).
We love Him because He died that we might live (John 15:13).
