Hello, Are You Really Saved?
John 8:24, " I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins."

According to denominations, all one has to do to be saved is believe Jesus is God's Son. However, that's not the only Bible verse relating to salvation. Numerous verses in God's plan refer to salvation. We must accept all of them if we want to live in heaven. But first, what does it mean to be saved? It means God's wrath will not be upon you at judgment; you will not be cast into hell; and you'll live eternally with God.But, Here's the Problem.
Many churches preach "faith only" for salvation. That's just not so, according to the Bible. Additionally, many churches preach the "Sinner's Prayer" as a means of salvation. Wow! That's nowhere in the Bible. Then again, denominational churches preach we're saved by grace only, and we need not do anything for salvation if we only believe in Jesus. We are indeed saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8), but according to the Bible, we are also directed to follow God's entire salvation plan.If all these "salvation thoughts" aren't biblically based, then why would anyone want to stake their eternal soul on these doctrines? We Must Check Our Bibles to Be Sure.Let me ask you two questions. If Jesus said, "Jump," would you do it? I'm thinking you would. Then, would you do anything and everything He said to do? I hope the answer is "yes" for both questions.
Well, what if He said to repent; that's a salvation thing, and He certainly said it, "No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish," (Luke 13:3)? If Jesus said this, and He did, wouldn't you say repentance is a must for salvation? Therefore, there's more to salvation than only believing. Wouldn't you agree?
Again, what if He said that we must confess His name? Would you do that? Here's Matthew 10:32-33: "So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, Mat 10:33 but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven." Having your name in the Book of Life is a mark of salvation. Right? Check out Romans 10:9-10.
Then, what if Jesus said we must be baptized to be saved? Did He say that? Yes, it's in Mark 16:16, "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned." Did you agree that if Jesus said, "Jump," you'd do that? Well, Jesus said to be baptized to be saved. Wouldn't you do that if Jesus commanded it?
Jesus died for your salvation, and eternity is a mighty long time. Wouldn't you want to follow Jesus for your salvation? Do you want to exist forever in hell or heaven? It's worth taking an extra look.
Blessings, my friend!
