For example, I know several women wracked by divorce. Don't you? When the husband commits adultery, the wife is destroyed. I once heard a statement that rings true in the heart: "If you want to kill your wife, divorce her for another woman." Divorced, she becomes a single mother, watching the wretchedness of her emotionally destroyed children. After all, Dad left them, too. You know them. It's your sibling(s) and your friends, and you experience their grief, too. Tears could fill an ocean. It's the utter loss, betrayal, and the simple question of which foot to put forward first that hurts so much. The self-doubting, self-hatred, and the feeling of being less than human that drives her heart to the floor.Of course, the same goes for husbands whose wives leave them for someone else. The man is in the same misery as a left-behind woman. Their hearts and lives are destroyed, too.Pain abounds in this dark world. Satan wants to kill everyone to their inner-most core, and he's winning the battle, but not the war. There's hope! Jesus is the light, the light of the world (John 8:12). He wants us to walk in His glorious, beautiful light, giving our hearts to Him each day. He is the Great Physician, and He heals the broken-hearted, regardless of the depths of their sorrow.
Blessings, my friend!
