Hello, , Today, we're talking about spirits.

Ecclesiastes 12:17 "and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it."

We know, from Luke 16:19-31, that the spirit goes to Hades. That's the repository of all souls, whether evil or good. Luke 16:23 has it that the rich man entered Hades. Acts 2:31 speaks of Jesus entering Hades, but not being left there. He was there for 3 days and rose to life on the third day. So, Hades is a real place in the spirit world. We also see that Hades is divided into two parts: the place of torment and the place of rest, known as Paradise. Jesus told the thief on the cross, "Today you will be with Me in Paradise" (Luke 23:43). The rich man in Luke 16 ends up in torment.Spirits remain in Hades until the time of the resurrection (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) and the resurrection of the dead (John 5:28-29). Then, there's the judgment, John 5:28-29.At the judgment, all souls will either be cast into eternal hell or enter eternal bliss (2 Corinthians 5:10).  Of the two, I'd choose bliss, but many people don't see it that way. Apparently, they desire to live forever in hell. No matter how often we speak about hell, folks just won't change their mind. So, what manner of life should we live knowing the reality of Hades and judgment (2 Peter 3:11)? Just a thought.

Blessings, my friend!
