What Does Jesus Want From You, Today?Micah 6:8
Scripture tells us this: “O people, the LORD has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”
Actually, the Lord requires a lot from us every day—too many to list here in a short devotional. However, Micah 6:8 is an excellent verse for today.
Micah helps us out with a summary of what the Lord wants from us today.
To do right - and that’s summed up in loving our God and our neighbor, Luke 10:27.
To love mercy - not returning evil for evil, but to bless them, Romans 12:17.
To walk humbly with your God - Deuteronomy 12:12-13.
So, here’s this: the humble walk with God is a daily posture of heart—recognizing who He is, submitting to His will, treating others with gentleness, and trusting Him to exalt us in His time rather than pushing ourselves forward. That’s the life Jesus both modeled and asks of us.
He is our life, every day and forevermore.
