To God Be The GloryHebrews 1:3
“He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.”
Jesus is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact imprint of His nature! Whatever the Father is, Jesus is. The point is, both are glorious entities that overpower us when we glimpse their glory in our mind’s viewer. It’s both frightening and wonderful!
No One Could Be So Terrifying!
I’ve never experienced a tornado, but I’ve heard that the sight of an F3 tornado is so frightening that you want to hide and cover up your existence. It’s the same with the Father and the Son. Jehovah told Moses that he could not look at His face and live (Exodus 33:20). There’s no place to hide with God: He’s everywhere and knows everything. No one can escape His glory, His terrifying Being. That’s why folks need to glorify Him now before it’s too late.
No One Is So Wonderful!
I don’t believe there’s an adequate way to describe His glory. No human holds the words to express them so. How about this as a description: inexpressible love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentlenessn and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
Take each of these words and apply the word “inexpressible” to them. Then perhaps, we can see just the tiniest bit of how wonderful He is. These words should lead one to salvation.
Summary:
As much as He is terrifying in His glory, His glory is so wonderful that He draws the longing soul to Him!
