**Are You Saved When You’re Saved?**
**Hebrews 10:38**
“But my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”
The Lord saves us when we follow His plan of salvation as outlined in the Bible. You might wonder, what is the Bible's plan of salvation? Here’s a quick summary, and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me:
- Believe that Jesus is the Son of God (Romans 10:9-10).
- Repent of your sins (Luke 13:3).
- Confess Jesus as your Lord (Romans 10:9-10).
- Be baptized for the remission of your sins (Acts 2:38).
This devotional focuses on what it means to be saved after our initial salvation. What does this entail? Our Father requires that we remain faithful to Him. The New Testament Scriptures provide guidance on how to do this.
But first, can you lose your soul after salvation? Hebrews 10:38 clearly states that God will reject those who choose to forsake Jesus. In other words, yes, you can lose your soul by turning away from Him. That makes perfect sense, doesn’t it?
Is someone permanently lost then, with no chance of reinstatement? Not at all. God is extremely gracious. As stated in 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
However, don’t take God's grace for granted. He knows whether you are serious about your faith.
