The church belonging to Jesus Christ...
Build My church... "My" shows ownership; "build" means it is to be created; "church" is an assembly or group of Christians. The church, as a collective body of saved Christians, was established in Acts 2, after His ascension.
The Power of Death... We all die. Some will go to hell because they did not submit to the gospel. Others will go to heaven. There s a judgment coming. If you die without the gospel then Satan wins - this is the power of death. If you die as a Christian then death, or Satan, or hell, cannot claim you. You have eternal life.
Will not Defeat My church... There is an entity called "church of Christ" in the Bible. It is His church, truly. He holds the keys to admission to His church. A person is a member of the church of Christ when saved according to the gospel. Satan is powerless to defeat a Christian at death or keep such a one from heaven! When I die, I want to die as a member of Christ's church!
Matthew 16:18 So I tell you, you are Peter. And I will build my church on this rock. The power of death will not be able to defeat my church.
Prayer: Father, You are glorious and mighty, loving and forgiving. Please Father, may the gospel be in the ears of every soul in every community, in all urban areas, and open land. May the hearts of each soul be receptive to the gospel through Your Son Jesus. Your will on earth be done just as it is in heaven.
