Hello , Are you blind? Am I?It makes a huge difference!John 9:39 And Jesus said, "For judgment I came into this world, so that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind."
1. The Scribes and the Pharisees thought they were absolutely correct and pleasing to the Father but Jesus said something different, Matthew 5:20, "For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. They thought they had their eyes open to the truth but they didn't!
2. We can be blind to spiritual truth as well and that makes all the difference in the world. Without sure truth we are doomed to hell, John 8:31-32, So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."
3. We must act on the truth while we have the opportunity. Let us not act spiritually arrogant as the Pharisees. God is spirit, John 4:24, and we must worship Him in truth and spirit. John 17:17 has this: "Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.
Tip: Read the Bible objectively without the lens of denominationalism. Prayer: Father, awesome and loving, merciful and forgiving, let us open our eyes only to Your word for spiritual guidance. Without thinking we have it all and have it right, let us go to Your word for the final say. Let our studies be profitable in truth and spirit! In Your Son's Name, amen.
