Hello , Sexual Immorality
1 Corinthians 10:8 - And we must not engage in sexual immorality as some of them did, causing 23,000 of them to die in one day. NLT.
1. Bad. 23,000 died in one day! Wow! God doesn't like immorality of any kind. Apparently, the sexual version is particularly abhorrent. It is a sin worthy of hell, as in, anyone committing this sin goes to hell. Sexual Immorality includes fornication, adultery, and same-gender sex - anything sexual that goes against God's direction. And don’t forget Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with immorality and every kind of sexual perversion. Those cities were destroyed by fire and serve as a warning of the eternal fire of God’s judgment. Jude 1:7. NLT.
2. Destroyer. Marriage is "until death do you part" - it's a vow you make to God! God said so. He gave one out for this, "except for the cause of sexual immorality." Sexual immorality destroys your spouse. It destroys your children. It hurts your extended family. It pains the church. It's bad for your neighborhood, bad for your community, bad for your state, and devastating to your nation. But I say that a man who divorces his wife, unless she has been unfaithful, causes her to commit adultery. And anyone who marries a divorced woman also commits adultery. Matthew 5:32. NLT.
3. Ripple Effect. You divorce your spouse because you decide to do so, but you are still married according to God (until death do you part, right?). Your divorced spouse doesn't want to live alone, so he/she finds another mate. Now there are two more involved in sexual immorality. God says so. And if that marriage ends... But I say that a man who divorces his wife, unless she has been unfaithful, causes her to commit adultery. And anyone who marries a divorced woman also commits adultery. Matthew 5:32. NLT.
Tip: Avoid hell. Don't commit sexual immorality.
Prayer: Father, the world over is engaged in sexual sin. It is portrayed in media as a good thing. It goes against Your word. You alone know what is best for us, how that we may stay clean and healthy, and how to live rightly before You. Our nation is in trouble with divorce, abortion, prostitution, sexual slavery, fornication, adultery, lesbianism, and homosexuality. This sin is rampant, Father. We look to You, to Your word, for salvation and guidance. May we humbly submit to You, O God. You are our God. You are God Most High. Amen and Amen!
