Hello , Are We All Together In This?We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.. 1 John 1:3. NLT.
1. Fellowship! Fellowship is association, community, communion, and joint participation; it's the share of participation in anything. It's the love we have for each other. It's sharing the cause of Christ - whatever He is about, we're about. It's sharing in the duties, responsibilities, and work of the local church. We share sorrow. We share joy. We share life as strangers and pilgrims. We share faith in our Lord and Savior's promises.
2. Beginning! You're in fellowship with Jesus, the Father, Holy Spirit, and other Christians when you believe Jesus is the Son of God and Christ (John 20:30-31); when you repent of your sin-filled life (Luke 13:3) and turn to the living God; when you confess Jesus as Lord and Christ (Romans 10:9-10); when you are baptized for the remission of your sins (Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16). After these, you live righteously, sharing the love of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
3. Result! You're a disciple of Jesus Christ! You follow His teaching; you do His work; you take on His character. His will is your will. You die to self and live to Him. You share the gospel with others. You help the local church complete its mission of preaching and teaching God's word, benevolence to the saints, and edification of your brethren. You love the brethren and the lost. Your life belongs to Jesus, the same as all Christians.
Tip: Being a disciple in truth and sincerity means your reward in heaven!Prayer: O Father, our Father, what great joy You give us as Your children. We know where blessings come. We know Your love, kindness, grace, and mercy. We know our Lord is always near. We know we may ask for help in time of need. We praise You, O God. Thank You for the church belonging to Christ Jesus. We live, love, and honor You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen!
