**All the Problems All the Time**
**2 Corinthians 4:17**
“ For our momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison.”
It seems problems jump on us, all at the same time. Darla and I were driving along when suddenly our dashboard information center began listing all the problems with our car. There must have been six messages about failing systems.
We were concerned about getting home and the ginormous repair bill that would ensue.
We made it to the house without issue, but it got me thinking. Isn’t this the way of things?
It seems like our problems pile up. As you might expect, there are spiritual applications for this. The Apostle Paul lets in on a few things.
Consider the following:
“The testing of your faith produces perseverance” (James 1:2–4).
“Tested by fire… may result in praise and glory” (First Peter 1:6–7).
“My grace is sufficient for you” (Second Corinthians 12:9). So spiritually, some problems remain not to defeat you, but to keep you close to God.
Not every problem is personal or a test—some are simply the result of living in a broken world (Romans 8:20–22).
“Our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory…” (Second Corinthians 4:17).
Ongoing problems are not pointless—they’re refining processes. Gold isn’t purified once—it’s heated again and again. So are we; our Father is getting us ready for heaven.
